Job summary

CAIRE, located near Canton/Ball Ground, GA, seeks a junior–mid level firmware engineer to join its R&D team working on oxygen therapy medical devices. The role focuses on embedded system design, from development to manufacturing transfer, with on-site duties in office, lab and production environments.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Engineering (Computer/Electrical) and at least two years of firmware or software experience, with C/C++ and ARM/PIC microcontrollers. Limited travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Engineering – Computer, Electrical, or equivalent.
• Minimum two years professional engineering experience in electro-mechanical product design/manufacturing.
• Firmware or software development experience with C/C++.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Office Suite.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in team settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform development and sustaining tasks for electro-mechanical medical devices with cross functional design team.
• Design and develop firmware to meet engineering and marketing requirements.
• Troubleshoot hardware and firmware issues and implement fixes.
• Write firmware design documentation and test protocols.
• Develop test and diagnostics software to support bench and production testing.
• Evaluate product designs and participate in design reviews.
• Maintain and update existing firmware for reliability and performance.
