Job summary

Koya Medical, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to design and develop embedded systems at the Oakland, CA facility. You will design circuits, layout PCBs, write firmware, and support hardware bring-up for medical devices.

Responsibilities include working with I2C/UART/SPI/USB, BLE modules, and Python-based testing while collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in electronic hardware design and development.
• Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design.
• Rich experience with microcontrollers and embedded systems.
• Expert programming in C/C++ and Python.
• Experience with Altium Designer.

Responsibilities

• Design analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits.
• Create and maintain schematics, BOM and PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
• Lead hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, and validation testing.
• Support embedded firmware development in C/C++ for MCUs.
• Test interfaces (I2C, UART, SPI, USB) and BLE integration.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on test fixtures and manufacturing equipment.
