Job summary

Advanced Energy in Redwood City, CA is seeking an embedded firmware architect to lead the next generation platform using C++ object‑oriented programming and real‑time embedded systems.

You will design and modify embedded software, work with hardware teams, and own development from requirements through test, ensuring tight timing and robust interfaces. Required: RTOS, I2C/SPI/Ethernet/USB, lab debugging with oscilloscopes/logic analyzers, and 1–5 years in C++ for embedded systems.

Qualifications

• C++ with embedded systems experience and RTOS knowledge.
• Strong real-time software design and debugging skills.
• Familiarity with I2C, SPI, Ethernet, USB interfaces.
• Hands-on lab experience with test instruments.

Responsibilities

• Leads embedded firmware architecture for next-gen platform.
• Develops real-time software and hardware interfaces.
• Collaborates with Systems Engineers and PM for requirements.
• Creates code and architecture documentation.
• Performs design reviews and cross‑functional coordination.
• Designs architectures to meet timing and algorithms.
