Job summary

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering with 8+ years experience or MS with 6+ years.
  • Strong knowledge of embedded systems, firmware, and RTOS.
  • Experience with MCU and DSP cores and supporting software stacks.
  • Proven leadership delivering embedded software/firmware projects.
  • Proficiency in Python, shell, C, and C++.
  • Hands-on in reusable embedded test frameworks, utilities, and HIL testing.
  • Ability to design and execute test strategies and derive traceable test cases.
  • Experience automating functional, regression, integration, and system tests for embedded hardware/firmware.

  • Present test results, coverage, risks, and defects to product owners and developers.
  • Build robust and scalable test methodologies for embedded systems.

Job description

  • Serve as a hands-on technical lead responsible for thoroughly testing embedded firmware and software products
  • Provide technical expertise across all aspects of embedded firmware testing throughout the product cycle

Requirements
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of experience, or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of experience
  • Strong knowledge of embedded systems, embedded firmware, and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
  • Experience with a variety of MCU and DSP cores/processors and supporting software stacks
  • Strong leadership skills with a consistent track record of delivering embedded software and firmware projects
  • Proficiency with Python, shell, C, and C++
  • Hands-on experience developing reusable embedded test frameworks, test utilities, and hardware-in-the-loop test infrastructure
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in embedded hardware or firmware system testing sufficient to design and execute test strategies, develop test plans, identify defects, and assess system-level functionality and reliability
  • Knowledge of requirements analysis and test case development, including interpreting technical requirements, deriving comprehensive test scenarios, and documenting traceable test cases with clear expected results
  • Experience automating functional, regression, integration, and system-level tests for embedded hardware or firmware, and analyzing automated test results
  • Ability to debug embedded hardware or firmware using logs, traces, debuggers, instrumentation, and systematic root-cause analysis
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers for embedded-system measurement and debugging
  • Must be able to access technical data without a requirement for an export license
  • Cirrus Logic is unable to sponsor or obtain export licenses for this role
