Job summary

GCS Recruitment Specialists seeks an experienced Embedded Linux/Networking Engineer to design, implement, and support onboard connectivity solutions for passenger networks. You will work across middleware, network authentication, and data traffic management to ensure reliable Internet access and premium services onboard.

The role requires hands-on experience with Linux-based platforms, WLAN technologies, and IP protocols, supporting streaming, OTA updates, and secure passenger authentication in

Qualifications

• Experience with Embedded Linux, middleware, and networking fundamentals.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, DNS.
• Experience with WLAN/Wi‑Fi technologies and network authentication.
• Ability to manage data bandwidth and connectivity in a high-availability environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage onboard Wi-Fi and network infrastructure.
• Validate passenger authentication and access control.
• Ensure internet access, bandwidth allocation, and connectivity for passengers.
• Support services such as web browsing, messaging, OTA updates, and streaming.
• Develop and maintain middleware between applications and network.
• Manage network applications, authentication services, and data traffic.
• Work with VLAN, WLAN, IP-based networking and protocols.
• Develop and support Embedded Linux-based solutions.
• Ensure reliable connectivity between onboard systems and external services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing onboard Wi-Fi and network infrastructure.


• Handling network authentication, where passengers gain internet access by validating details such as their airline ticket or flight information.


• Managing internet access, bandwidth allocation, and connectivity for all passengers onboard.


• Supporting services such as web browsing, messaging, OTA (Over-the-Air) updates, and premium content streaming.


• Working on the middleware layer, which sits between applications and the underlying network infrastructure.


• Managing network-related applications, authentication services, and data traffic across the aircraft network.


• Working with technologies such as VLAN, WLAN, IP-based networking, and network protocols.


• Developing and supporting solutions on Embedded Linux platforms.


• Ensuring reliable connectivity between onboard systems and external internet services.
