Ford Motor Company is seeking an Engine Controls Software Engineer to join the Engine Controls software team. You will collaborate across calibration, systems engineering, and vehicle integration to deliver production-ready software for boosted engine programs.

You’ll design embedded engine controls, capture requirements, and validate through simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and in-vehicle testing. Strong C coding and MBSE experience are valued, with hybrid onsite work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 1+ year of experience writing software in C.
• Familiarity with model-based design and testing tools is preferred.
• Knowledge of automotive powertrain concepts is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Design and implement embedded engine controls and diagnostic monitors within the powertrain control module software.
• Capture and maintain requirements; document changes using Ford MBSE tools and validate with simulations and HIL.
• Manage configuration for multiple vehicle programs and maintain compatibility across Gas, Diesel, HEV, and BEV powerpacks.
• Develop and validate control algorithms in C to meet functional, emissions, and safety requirements (ISO 26262).
• Apply software validation methods including unit testing (Unity/Ceedling), SIL, MIL, and HIL.
• Troubleshoot fuel-path FO issues using data analysis, vehicle testing, and simulation.
• Maintain software description docs, calibration guides, and release notes with traceability.
