Job summary

Redpanda Data is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with strategic customers and build agents, integrations, and data pipelines in the customer environment. You will write production-grade code that ships with the customer and remains functional after your departure.

You will work in unfamiliar codebases, rapidly understanding constraints, and delivering reliable, maintainable solutions. This role emphasizes hands-on delivery, clear communication, and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• You write production software and have shipped backend systems, data pipelines, APIs, or agent systems in production.
• You’ve built agents or integrations with LLM APIs and productionized them.
• You can read unfamiliar codebases in a customer environment and extend them safely.
• You communicate credibly with a customer’s engineers and stakeholders.
• You’ve shipped at a customer site or deployment context and understand live environments.

Responsibilities

• Build production-quality agents, integrations, and data pipelines inside the customer’s environment and codebase.
• Ramp quickly to new codebases and data environments without breaking existing systems.
• Own the technical deliverable from design to handoff, with documentation and production readiness.
• Collaborate daily with the customer’s engineers to ensure integration correctness.
• Document handoffs and train the customer team to operate what you built.
• Capture learnings from engagements and share feedback with Product and Engineering.
