Job summary

Ultra Intelligence & Communications seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to architect, implement, and certify high‑assurance cryptographic systems for DoD, NATO, and allied partners. You will work beyond traditional embedded development on security‑critical software and firmware meeting NSA High Assurance requirements.

Responsibilities include designing embedded software in C and Rust, supporting NSA certification, and delivering formal engineering documentation, test plans, and evidence in a

Qualifications

• 5+ years of embedded software development in C and/or Rust.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience with low-level embedded development and debugging.
• Familiarity with ARM-based processors and SoC platforms.
• Knowledge of memory management, concurrency, and deterministic embedded behavior.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software in C and Rust for cryptographic platforms.
• Architect cryptographic information assurance software and systems.
• Perform memory-safe design and C-to-Rust transitions.
• Support NSA High Assurance certification processes: requirements decomposition, security architecture, certification artifacts.
• Develop formal engineering documentation (SHRS/IRS, ICDs, SHDD) and execute testing (unit/integration/HIL).
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, security, and test engineers in a high-performance team.
