Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Cyber-Physical Systems Reverse Engineer to research and develop capabilities for maritime cybersecurity. You will work hands-on with embedded devices, analyze hardware, firmware, and interfaces, and reverse engineer components to identify unexpected behaviors and potential vulnerabilities.

The role emphasizes building automated workflows and test environments using C/C++ and Python; lab-based work with hardware and instrumentation is required.

Qualifications

• Experience developing embedded firmware for real-time systems and drivers.
• Experience with SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, USB, Ethernet or wireless interfaces.
• Experience building simulation, emulation, automated tests for embedded systems.
• Proficiency in Python for automation, testing, and tooling.
• Experience with JTAG/SWD debuggers and lab instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and debug embedded firmware for real-time systems and hardware interfaces.
• Design and implement simulation, emulation, and automated test environments for embedded/cyber-physical systems.
• Analyze and reverse engineer embedded devices, firmware, and protocols to understand real-world behavior.
• Develop production-quality C/C++ and Python software to automate testing and analysis.
• Conduct hands-on lab testing using debugging tools and instrumentation; document findings.
