Job summary

Black Ore is seeking a Forward Deployed Accountant (FDA), a CPA embedded inside tax workflows for CPA firms. You will own accounts end-to-end from kickoff through renewal, driving adoption, training staff, and sustaining usage while providing tax-domain expertise in demos and evaluations.

You will translate customer observations into evidence for our R&D team, shaping product input at the intersection of tax practice and AI.

Qualifications

• CPA or EA credential required.
• 3+ years of experience preparing tax returns.
• 2+ years of 1040 prep/review in a CPA or tax services setting.
• Tax software experience with CCH Axcess Tax, ProSystem fx, GoSystem, UltraTax, ProConnect, Lacerte, ProSeries or Drake.
• Detail oriented with strong tax review accuracy.
• Commercially savvy; comfortable presenting to customers across lifecycle.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to articulate findings.
• Strong organization and project management; able to manage implementation timelines.
• Tech-savvy; quick to learn new AI tools and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own your book of accounts end-to-end from kickoff to renewal.
• Drive adoption and change management within firms’ tax workflows.
• Monitor usage and re-engage accounts before renewal risk.
• Support pre-sale activities; join demos as tax-domain expert.
• Flag expansion signals to the Account Executive.
• Feed product loop with customer feedback for AI enhancements.
• Configure environments, roles, and readiness checks against success criteria.
