Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific in Marietta, OH is seeking an Embedded Controls Engineering Manager to lead hardware and software teams across North America and India, delivering scalable control platforms for ultra-low temperature freezers and cryogenic storage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Five+ years leading embedded hardware and software engineering teams.
• Three+ years designing and developing embedded control systems for electromechanical products.
• Experience with embedded firmware development using C/C++.
• Strong understanding of embedded system architecture, microcontrollers, and real-time control systems.
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams through product development.
• Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a global team of electrical engineers, embedded software engineers, and engineering technicians.
• Define and drive the embedded controls architecture and technology roadmap for cold storage and cryogenic product portfolio.
• Provide technical leadership for firmware, hardware, sensing, communications, and control algorithms.
• Develop scalable, modular control platforms for future product innovation and platform reuse.
• Guide architecture decisions to improve performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Lead embedded controls development across the New Product Development lifecycle.
