Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an Embedded Controls Engineer to join the Lunar Avionics Embedded Controllers team. You will develop motor control algorithms and embedded software for lunar vehicles, coordinating with cryogenic fluids, docking mechanisms, space suit interfaces, and other subsystems.

You will verify designs meet requirements under varied conditions and safety standards for human space flight. The role offers hands-on development, collaboration across teams, and opportunities to advance motor

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related discipline.
• 3+ years in control system design, verification, and/or avionics hardware.
• Experience with Matlab/Simulink and autocode generation in C/C++.
• Hands-on experience with development and production hardware.
• Familiarity with embedded hardware, including inverters, gate drivers, ADCs, SPI, I2C, UART, PWM, and MCUs.
• Ability to work hands-on and in a team throughout product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a family of motor controllers to multiple lunar vehicles.
• Develop, test, and own motor control algorithms and tuning.
• Test and integrate motor control designs with Lunar vehicle subsystems.
• Contribute to technology development, mission assurance, and safety initiatives.
• Co-develop customer-facing requirements and verification plans.
• Communicate development status, risks, and challenges to management.
