Job summary

Global Connect Technologies in Boston, MA seeks an Embedded Controls Engineer to support the controls layer of next-generation automated machinery. You will maintain a soft PLC platform (CODESYS) on Linux IPCs connected to electrical panels and untangle complex logic.

The role requires strong C/C++ embedded software experience, hands-on hardware work, and ability to work across mechanical and software teams to improve reliability and deployment processes.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• Strong experience in Embedded Software Engineering using C/C++.
• Experience with CODESYS and Linux-based IPCs.
• Hands-on hardware experience in industrial settings.
• Ability to learn structured text quickly and adapt to IEC 61131-3 environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, debug, and optimize soft PLC code (CODESYS/Structured Text) on local IPCs.
• Refactor code to improve reliability and testing methodologies.
• Manage remote deployments and rollbacks to industrial hardware.
• Troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems, sensors, and barcode integrations.
• Collaborate with mechanical and software teams to bridge software and hardware.
