Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group seeks an Embedded Controls Engineer to support and optimize the controls layer of next-generation automated machinery. The role centers on maintaining a soft PLC platform (CODESYS) on Linux-based IPCs connected to electrical panels, requiring a strong embedded mindset.

You will inherit existing structured text code, untangle complex logic, and improve deployment reliability, collaborating with mechanical and software teams to bridge software and hardware

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or related field.
• Strong experience in Embedded Software Engineering with C/C++.
• Willingness to learn Structured Text and the CODESYS IDE.
• Hands-on experience with industrial hardware, IPCs, and Linux.

Responsibilities

• Own maintenance, debugging, and optimization of soft PLC code (CODESYS/Structured Text) on IPCs.
• Refactor code to improve reliability and testing methodologies.
• Manage remote deployments and rollbacks to industrial hardware.
• Troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems, sensors, and barcode integrations.
• Collaborate with mechanical and software teams to bridge software and hardware functions.
• Create detailed technical documentation and runbooks.
