Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group is seeking an Embedded Controls Engineer to optimize the controls layer of automated machinery. You will maintain a soft PLC platform (CODESYS) on Linux-based IPCs connected to electrical panels, untangle complex logic, and improve deployment reliability in a hardware-software interface role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer engineering or related field.
• Solid embedded software experience with C/C++ and structured text.
• Hands-on hardware integration with Linux-based IPCs in an industrial setting.
• Experience debugging real-time systems and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to learn new PLC/IDE environments quickly.

Responsibilities

• Own maintenance, debugging, and optimization of soft PLC code (CODESYS/Structured Text).
• Refactor code to improve reliability and testing practices.
• Manage remote deployments and rollbacks to industrial hardware.
• Troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems and sensors on machinery.
• Collaborate with mechanical and software teams to integrate software with hardware.
• Create and maintain design notes and runbooks.
