Job summary

Global Connect Technologies in Boston is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to own maintenance, debugging, and optimization of soft PLC code running on local IPCs using CODESYS/Structured Text.

The role requires strong C/C++ skills, hands-on work with industrial hardware and Linux-based systems, and the ability to collaborate with mechanical and software teams to bridge software and motor control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Strong experience in Embedded Software Engineering with C/C++.
• Willingness to quickly learn Structured Text and the CODESYS IDE.
• Hands-on experience with industrial hardware, IPCs, and Linux-based systems.
• Excellent debugging and root-cause analysis skills for real-time systems.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with mechanical and software teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with mechanical and software teams to bridge the gap between high-level orchestration software and physical motor control.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, design notes, and operational runbooks.
