Job summary

Meta is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimize firmware for AR/VR and wearable devices. You will work on low-level systems software, device drivers, and wireless connectivity such as Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth.

You will lead hardware bring-up, collaboration across teams, and performance optimizations while solving complex system-level challenges in a fast-paced environment. Strong C/C++ skills and embedded experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of software development experience; 4+ years embedded software experience if PhD.
• 3+ years embedded software development experience in industry settings.
• Experience in large-scale C/C++ code base.
• Experience defining and leading technical work streams for software teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software components across kernel, drivers, and system layers.
• Develop drivers and services for constrained environments with high data throughput.
• Lead hardware bring-up, peripheral drivers, silicon integration, and power/performance management.
• Debug complex system-level issues spanning multiple layers from kernel to app.
• Profile performance and optimize across the software stack.
