Garmin Ltd. in Cary, NC is seeking a full-time Embedded C/C++ Software Engineer 2 for the Marine Telematics Engineering team. You will develop on-device software for marine ecosystem applications and support communications across Wi-Fi, LTE, BLE, CAN, and other protocols.

The role emphasizes implementing moderately complex software, collaborating with peers, and mentoring junior engineers. A bachelor's degree and 1+ year of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• GPA >= 3.0 is preferred.
• Proficient in C and C++ for embedded software.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute designs for small sets of new functionalities in C/C++ on embedded Linux.
• Contribute to software development using CM systems, builds, and debuggers.
• May serve as technical lead for derivative software projects.
• Participate in peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Provide solutions using solid problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Research new technologies and evaluate options for improvements.
• Mentor less experienced engineers (Software Engineer 1).
