Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group is seeking a senior cybersecurity engineer for embedded automotive software in Troy, MI. The role focuses on developing and implementing security protocols, HSM firmware, and secure boot/FOTA solutions within AUTOSAR-based environments.

The candidate will design secure communications between ECUs, conduct vulnerability assessments, and ensure compliance with SAE J3061, UNECE WP.29, ISO/SAE 21434. Strong C/C++ skills and collaboration across teams are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with automotive software development and AUTOSAR architecture.
• Familiarity with automotive cyber security standards, such as SAE J3061 and UNECE WP.29.
• Experience with secure boot and firmware update mechanisms for embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement security protocols for embedded automotive software
• Develop, implement and configure HSM (hardware security module) firmware
• Develop and configure VECTOR, ETAS or other vendor BSW and/or boot-loader software architecture and embedded security firmware for FOTA
• Design and implement secure communication protocols between various components of the system software and other ECU’s
• Conduct security vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on embedded software systems
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to identify and mitigate cyber security risks in the software development process
• Provide technical guidance to other teams on cyber security best practices
• Ensure compliance with relevant cyber security regulations and standards
• Analyze and debug issues related to cyber security in embedded software systems
