Job summary

Hitachi Astemo Americas, Inc. in Farmington Hills, MI is seeking an engineer to support the development and production of automotive embedded ECU hardware. You will design analog/digital circuits, run tests, and collaborate with global teams to meet customer specs.

Responsibilities include documenting designs, supporting prototype builds and validation, root cause analysis, and travel within the U.S. and to Japan as needed. A BS or MS in EE or CP with 1–3 years’ experience is required.

Qualifications

• Understand analog and digital hardware systems as applied to automotive control systems.
• Experience with lab test equipment (multimeters, scopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers).
• Familiar with CAN, SPI, LIN, UDS or similar protocols.
• Ability to read schematics and perform worst-case analysis (WCAs).
• Proficient in C or C++ at a basic to intermediate level.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications for engine and traction control systems.
• Develop circuit designs meeting performance, EMC and endurance requirements.
• Prepare engineering documents (RPLs, eBOMs, IMDS, Design Notes) and presentations.
• Support prototype builds and validation testing, including failure analysis.
• Coordinate with remote teams and travel as needed.

Bachelor's or Master’s in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering
