Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) is seeking a Software Engineer - Embedded Automation to build, test, and deploy firmware for critical power infrastructure at its Pullman, Washington headquarters.

These openings require regular on-site work with no remote option. The role focuses on developing CI/CD pipelines for embedded systems, device emulation Clouds, and hardware-in-the-loop testing frameworks while ensuring secure, reliable on-premise infrastructure and detailed design

Qualifications

• Experience in firmware development for embedded systems.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for embedded projects.
• Familiarity with Linux, RTOS, and bare-metal environments.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and deploy firmware for critical power infrastructure.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for embedded systems.
• Develop device emulation clouds and hardware-in-the-loop testing frameworks.
• Administer and optimize on-premise infrastructure with focus on security and reliability.
• Contribute to design, testing, documentation, and maintenance of SEL systems.
• Create tools and scripts to automate manual development tasks.
• Prepare and maintain test and design documentation.
• Engage in industry meetings to stay abreast of developments.
