Job summary

SGS Consulting seeks an embedded firmware engineer to design, validate and optimize audio subsystems on custom hardware. You will work closely with hardware, software and QA teams to define requirements and ensure robust integration.

The role involves board bring-up, hardware validation, and debugging with lab equipment. Strong C/C++, RTOS or bare‑metal experience, and familiarity with audio interfaces are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience designing embedded firmware for audio subsystems.
• Strong knowledge of C/C++ and RTOS/bare-metal workflows.
• Experience with hardware interfaces I2S, I2C, SPI, UART.
• Experience debugging with lab equipment and test rigs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and optimize embedded firmware for audio subsystems on custom hardware platforms.
• Integrate and debug audio features and algorithms on embedded systems (e.g., ARM Cortex-M, DSP cores).
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and QA teams to define requirements and validate designs.
• Conduct board bring-up, hardware validation, and troubleshooting using lab equipment.
• Write and maintain clear, well‑documented code, validation procedures and docs.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to firmware process improvements.
• Support manufacturing and test engineering teams with firmware issues.
