Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle is seeking a Supply Chain Program Manager embedded with engineering and manufacturing teams to convert program demand into executable sourcing strategies. You will own the end-to-end supplier lifecycle, from bid package creation to contract execution, in a fast-paced, high-rate production environment.

This AI-first role emphasizes supplier readiness, dual-sourcing, and cost-down initiatives, with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; 7+ years in supply chain/PM in manufacturing.
Proven track record of managing NPI or development programs from design to high-rate production.
Experience with First Article Inspection, supplier capability studies, and production readiness validation including run-at-rate.
Understanding of takt time, line balancing, capacity validation, and supplier scalability.
Experience building and executing sourcing strategies: competitive events, dual-sourcing, make/buy, total cost analysis.
Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills to embed with engineering and manufacturing teams.
Superior communication to distill complex supply chain issues for executives.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with BOMs, MRP/ERP, and cost modeling.
Familiarity with digital tools, supplier portals, EDI/TMS, and data-driven decisions.
Self-starter who defines scalable processes and templates; willing to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

Build comprehensive bid packages with technical requirements and evaluation criteria.
Lead competitive source selection events.
Qualify and onboard new suppliers, including facility assessments and contract execution.
Drive supplier readiness through PPAP, tooling acceptance, and run-at-rate validation.
Validate supplier capacity to scale from low-rate to high-rate production.
Develop and execute dual/tri-source strategies to mitigate risk and drive cost competition.
Conduct make/buy/where trade studies with engineering and manufacturing partners.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and LTAs/MSAs with suppliers; manage long-term agreements.
