Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a hands-on procurement leader to manage sourcing, contracting, and supplier execution across multiple commodity areas for launch vehicle manufacturing and operations. You will drive program requirements from requisition through delivery, lead supplier relationships, and continuously improve processes with data, automation, and AI-enabled tools.

Qualifications

• BS in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field; PM experience preferred
• Minimum 5 years managing complex procurement programs, supplier contracts, and sourcing
• Experience leading cross-functional teams to meet procurement requirements
• Strong supplier management: RFP development, SOW, evaluations, negotiation, contracts
• Recent procurement in mission-critical manufacturing/launch environments
• Deep understanding of contract types, terms, and subcontract management
• Proficient with procurement/project tools: Costpoint, Coupa, SAP, MS Project
• Advanced Excel and data skills; AI-assisted drafting and reporting experience
• Ability to build lightweight tooling with AI to solve data/workflow problems
• Strong analytical skills; KPI tracking (OTD, PR-to-PO, cost savings)

Responsibilities

• Develop procurement program plans aligned to project objectives and standards
• Act as primary procurement contact to define requirements and expectations
• Plan and manage multiple procurement programs with scope, timelines, and resources
• Create commodity-level procurement plans aligned to schedules and budgets
• Develop procurement schedules and monitor PO status and spend performance
• Manage contracts, budgets, and delivery across an assigned portfolio
• Lead sourcing lifecycle from strategy and RFPs through negotiation and awards
• Evaluate supplier quality, delivery, safety, and regulatory compliance
• Coordinate cross-functional activities affecting procurement execution
• Maintain data integrity and cost accounting for the portfolio
• Coach and mentor junior procurement staff
• Identify cost savings and process improvements; drive automation
• Leverage AI tools to streamline sourcing, reporting, and supplier comms
