Job summary

KKR is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to help bring AI into daily work across the firm. This is a hands-on role embedded with investment teams to understand workflows, translate challenges into technical problems, and design, build, and ship production AI systems end-to-end.

You will work with internal customers across private equity, credit, infrastructure, real estate, insurance and capital markets to observe data flows, develop reusable patterns, and scale solutions while upholding

Qualifications

• A strong software engineering foundation with hands-on experience building and operating production systems.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, APIs, cloud platforms, distributed systems, and enterprise integrations.
• Experience with large language models, agents, retrieval-augmented generation, and orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Observe teams to understand information flows, decision points, and day-to-day realities.
• Identify high-value AI opportunities to remove bottlenecks and improve decision quality.
• Translate business challenges into technical problem statements and delivery plans.
• Design, build, and ship production-grade AI applications and workflow automations.
• Connect structured and unstructured data across enterprise systems for AI usability.
• Develop reusable AI skills, tools, prompts, connectors, and evaluation frameworks.
• Establish metrics to measure accuracy, reliability, adoption, and business impact.
• Move from discovery to production while maintaining security, privacy, and compliance.
