Job summary

Embassy Suites Rockford Riverfront is seeking a Banquets Server to join our events team. This on-call, event-based role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, with shifts varying based on banquet business.

You will greet guests, set up banquet spaces, and ensure top-notch service across events. All team members must obtain and maintain required Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with hotel or related field experience.
• Prior banquet service or hospitality experience preferred.
• Alcohol Awareness and Food Handling certifications, as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with warm hospitality to ensure a memorable service.

Description

This is an on-call, event-based position with hours that vary based on banquet and event business. Banquet Servers must maintain flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and are expected to regularly pick up available shifts to remain active on the Banquet roster. Consistent availability and dependable attendance are essential, as weekly hours are not guaranteed and will fluctuate based on business needs.

All Banquet Servers must obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler Certification/License, as required by applicable state and local regulations, within the required timeframe after hire.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, along with experience in a hotel or related field.
• Prior experience in banquet service or hospitality is preferred.
• Certification in Alcohol Awareness and Food Handling, as required by state regulations.
