Job summary

Cardinal Health's Embark Program is an entry-level professional development path for new graduates. In a hand-on distribution-center setting in Waukegan, IL, participants gain skills, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration while preparing for impactful careers from day one.

The 12-month program places participants as Operations Supervisors, rotating through inbound/outbound teams, with leadership coaching, structured training, and capstone project work that reflects real business

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, management, operations, supply chain or a related field, preferred
• Expected graduation between Dec 2026 and Jun 2027, preferred
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment
• Willing to work day, evening, or overnight shifts as required
• Knowledge of supply chain principles, Lean Six Sigma or similar, preferred
• Previous internship experience, preferred
• Demonstrated leadership, communication and analytical skills
• Participation in extracurricular activities or professional associations
• Unlimited US work authorization, now or in the future

Responsibilities

• Supervises the daily work assignments and performance of frontline group leads and associates.
• Interacts with subordinates, customers, and peers at various management levels.
• Identifies opportunities to improve operations and mitigate risks within the team and warehouse.
• Leads continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
• Monitors productivity and quality metrics including cycle times, lines per hour, shortages, damaged units, missed dispatches, and missed scans.
• Adheres to budget guidelines and helps meet DC objectives while maintaining quality and inventory standards.
• Engages in employee development including training, coaching, and performance appraisals.
• Maintains accurate timekeeping, attendance/PTO records and scheduling.
• Majority of the day on the floor balancing administrative duties.
• Ensures warehouse systems are ready and prioritizes work for groups and teams.
