Job summary

Specialty Systems, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Lab Engineer to support DoD customer at Joint Base MDL-Lakehurst.

You will design, develop, and sustain EMALS, AAG, and SSA lab environments, ensuring accurate configurations and operational readiness. The role requires strong systems engineering, hardware/software integration, CM/SQA oversight, and ability to work with cross-functional teams including cybersecurity personnel.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required in a technical field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
Minimum 5 years of experience with complex hardware/software systems.
CompTIA Security+ certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Active clearance at Secret level or ability to obtain interim clearance within ~4 weeks.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, integrate, and maintain laboratory test stands, simulators, and equipment for EMALS, AAG, and SSA testing.
Engineer lab configurations and test setups for software/hardware integration and system verification.
Serve as technical authority for CM and SQA processes to ensure lab baselines are accurate and compliant.
Evaluate proposed software baseline changes and engineering changes for impact on lab infrastructure.
Define modifications to lab hardware/software to support evolving capabilities.
Maintain inventory, lifecycle status, and technical documentation for lab assets.
Develop and control lab engineering diagrams, network architectures, and interface definitions.
