East Mississippi Community College is seeking an Enrollment Management Specialist to assist incoming students and families with understanding the Federal Student Aid Application process. You will review financial aid applications and determine eligibility for federal, state aid and scholarships while providing high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities include advising students and families, answering inquiries by phone and walk-ins, and assisting in awarding financial aid.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and counsel students, parents, and the college community on all aspects of the federal financial aid process/programs, including but not limited to federal and state eligibility requirements and academic progress.
  • Answer incoming calls and assist students with inquiries regarding financial aid and enrollment management.
  • Serve walk-in students regarding Financial Aid inquiries or processes.
  • Assist students with understanding and completing the Federal Direct Loan Program regarding eligibility and requirements to receive a student loan.
  • Assist with awarding Financial Aid (Federal, State and School).
  • Oversee Federal Work-Study, award scholarships, FAFSA Days, and loan programs in line with federal rules; counsel on amounts and terms.
  • Process ISIR Verification and monitor loan reporting.
  • Award athletics scholarships within policy and coordinate with coaches; assist with MACJC term reporting.
  • Evaluate Financial Aid Suspension Appeals for eligibility.
  • Participate in trainings and webinars for timely processing and professional development.
  • Participate in College Enrollment events and represent the College professionally.

Job description

Assist incoming students and families with understanding the Federal Student Aid Application process. This position requires providing quality customer service by answering general questions regarding financial aid paperwork, policies, and procedures. The Enrollment Management Specialist will review and evaluate financial aid applications to determine eligibility for various programs, including federal, state aid, and scholarships. The Enrollment Management Specialist will assist in resolving issues related to financial aid application discrepancies or eligibility concerns.

Responsibilities
  1. Primarily advise and counsel students, parents, and the college community on all aspects of the federal financial aid process/programs, including but not limited to, federal and state financial aid eligibility requirements, satisfactory academic progress and related appeals while maintaining a high value of customer service.
  2. Answer incoming calls and assist students with inquiries regarding financial aid and enrollment management.
  3. Serve walk-in students regarding Financial Aid inquiries or processes.
  4. Assist students with understanding and completing the Federal Direct Loan Program regarding eligibility and requirements to receive a student loan.
  5. Assist with awarding Financial Aid (Federal, State and School).
  6. Specialized duties as follows (not all apply for each specialist):
    • Assist and/or Oversight of Federal Work-Study Program.
    • Award EMCC Scholarships according to school policies. works with EMCC Recruiters and High School Counselors regarding award days.
    • Visit high schools to hold FAFSA Days to assist students with completing the FAFSA, when needed.
    • Awards federal Direct and PPLUS loans in conjunction with all federal rules/regulations. Counsel with students regarding amounts and terms requested. Proficient in NSLDS and loan monitoring and reporting.
    • Performs ISIR Verification Processing.
    • Awards and assists with implementation of athletic scholarships. includes budgetary restraints and communication with coaches and players. Assists with term reporting to MACJC.
    • Understand and Assist with the evaluation of all aspects of the Financial Aid Suspension Appeals to determine eligibility.
    • Participate in various webinars and/or federal aid trainings (on-going) that will ensure timely, thorough, and accurate processing.
    • Attend financial aid trainings, webinars, or association meetings (Professional Development).
    • Participate in College Enrollment events (Journey East, etc.).
    • Other duties as assigned by the Director positions.
