Job summary

The Allen Institute seeks a Scientist I in Image Processing and Scientific Computing to lead EM image processing and analysis of large-scale datasets. You will oversee 2D stitching and 3D alignment pipelines and collaborate with anatomists and modelers to interpret cell-type relationships and modalities.

Required: PhD in Neuroscience/CS/Applied Math/Engineering, strong image processing background, and software engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Computer Science, Applied Math, Engineering; or equivalent combination of degree and experience.
• Strong background in image processing.
• Experience with software engineering best practices (e.g. version control and code reviews).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with others to scale image processing of high-throughput EM pipelines to whole mouse brain datasets.
• Oversee EM data 2D stitching and 3D alignment automated pipeline.
• Analyze EM data in the context of cell types and modalities; publish findings at journals/conferences.
