Job summary

Shelby County Schools is seeking a Site Supervisor for the Extended Learning Program at an after-school site. You will organize and supervise activities, develop daily programming, and ensure safety and well-being of all children on site.

Collaborating with the ELP Site Worker, you will oversee data entry for the Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) and ensure compliance with district policies and state/federal laws, while establishing processes to maintain accurate program records.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college.
  • Sixty (60) semester hours of college training, with 30+ hours in business or management, child or youth development, early childhood education or related field.
  • Two (2) years of full-time experience in a group setting.
  • High school diploma (or equivalent), and Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance (TECTA) certificate for completing thirty (30) clock hours of orientation training, or the equivalent as recognized by the Department.
  • Four (4) years of full-time experience in a group setting. (2 years school-age care experience = 1 year full-time)
  • PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED

Education

Job description

Purpose and Scope

During before and after school hours extended learning programs, organizes, coordinates, and supervises the Extended Learning Program (ELP) after-school program. Develops daily programming and routines in collaboration with the ELP Site Worker to standardize processes used at their designated school site, including activities and the safety and well-being of all children while on school site grounds. In collaboration with the ELP Site Worker oversees data entry for Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE). Ensures program compliance with all applicable District policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations, and standards of quality and safety. Establishes processes to maintain program records.

Minimum Qualifications

A program Site Supervisor shall be at least twenty-one (21) years of age, and shall meet at least one (1) of the minimum qualifications listed below:

Education level

Minimum experience required

Graduation from an accredited four-year (4 year) college.

One (1) year of full-time experience in a group setting. Experience may be paid or unpaid. (2 years school-age care experience = 1 year full-time experience)

Degree Equivalency Formula

Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

Master’s Degree=6 years plus required years of experience.
