Job summary

Memphis-Shelby County Schools is seeking an experienced supervisor for the Extended Learning Program (ELP) after school. You will organize daily activities, coordinate routines with the ELP Site Worker, and ensure the safety and well-being of all students on school grounds.

In this role you will oversee Tennessee Department of Education data entry, ensure compliance with district policies and state/federal laws, and establish processes to maintain accurate program records.

Qualifications

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college.
  • At least one year of full-time experience in a group setting.
  • Sixty (60) semester hours of college training with 30+ hours in related fields.
  • At least two years of full-time experience in a group setting.
  • High school diploma and TECTA certificate or equivalent.
  • Four years of full-time experience in a group setting.
  • Proof of Education, Training, and/or Experience is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree equals 4 years plus required experience; Master's equals 6 years plus required experience.

Job description

Responsibilities

Organizes, coordinates, and supervises the Extended Learning Program (ELP) after‑school program. Develops daily programming and routines in collaboration with the ELP Site Worker to standardize processes used at their designated school site, including activities and the safety and well‑being of all children while on school site grounds.

In collaboration with the ELP Site Worker oversees data entry for Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE). Ensures program compliance with all applicable District policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations, and standards of quality and safety. Establishes processes to maintain program records.

Qualifications
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Graduation from an accredited four‑year college.
  • At least one (1) year of full‑time experience in a group setting (paid or unpaid; 2 years school‑age care experience = 1 year full‑time experience).
  • Sixty (60) semester hours of college training, with at least thirty (30) hours in business, management, child or youth development, early childhood education, or related field.
  • At least two (2) years of full‑time experience in a group setting (paid or unpaid; 2 years school‑age care experience = 1 year full‑time experience).
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance (TECTA) certificate for completing thirty (30) clock hours of orientation training, or the equivalent recognized by the Department.
  • At least four (4) years of full‑time experience in a group setting (paid or unpaid; 2 years school‑age care experience = 1 year full‑time experience).
  • Proof of Education, Training, and/or Experience is required.
  • Degree equivalency formula: Bachelor's Degree = 4 years plus required years of experience. Master's Degree = 6 years plus required years of experience.
