Job summary

BASIS Ed is seeking an ELL Teacher for the BASIS Phoenix South campus in Phoenix, AZ. The role focuses on integrating English language learning with core academics in a Title I setting, supporting teachers, and planning instruction to promote language and content mastery.

Responsibilities include curriculum alignment, ongoing assessments, and collaboration with school staff to ensure effective ELL services. The campus emphasizes high expectations and student success.

Qualifications

• Structured English Immersion (SEI), Bilingual Education (BLE) or Structured English Immersion (ESL) endorsement.
• Experience coordinating curriculum and instruction for ELL students.
• Strong communication skills in teaching ideas, texts, and concepts with precision and confidence.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction integrating English as a second language with subject matter instruction.
• Advocate for the academic and personal/social needs of English Language Learners.
• Support classroom teachers in implementing programming, best practices, and ELL recommendations.
• Provide intervention support during Literacy and STEM times in K-5 classrooms.
• Plan and collaborate with K-5 teachers to design engaging instruction for language fluency across content areas.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student performance using multiple tools and develop progress-tracking processes.
• Identify students requiring English language support and determine services.
