Job summary

BASIS Ed seeks an EL Coordinator to join a bright, passionate team at BASIS Chandler. This role focuses on integrating English language learning with core content, advocating for ELL students, and supporting teachers with effective ESL approaches.

The EL Coordinator will develop assessments, identify language needs, collaborate with K-5 staff, and participate in family engagement to ensure English fluency across subjects. Must hold SEI/ESL endorsements and a Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• SEI, BLE or ESL endorsement required.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction integrated with ESL for ELLs in K-5.
• Advocate for academic/personal needs of ELL students.
• Support teachers in programming implementation and best practices for ELLs.
• Deliver intervention support during literacy and STEM times.
• Collaborate with K-5 teachers to design engaging English language instruction.
• Assess ELL progress using multiple tools and develop progress tracking.
• Identify students needing language support and plan services.
• Support school-wide environment with differentiated instruction and planning.
• Model best teaching practices to build teacher capacity for ELL services.
• Contribute to ESL curriculum development and access to BASIS Ed’s education.
• Attend meetings with Directors to review student progress.
• Attend parent-teacher conferences to support ELLs.
