Job summary

Irvington Board of Education seeks a Multilingual Learner Instructional Coach for University Middle School. This role supports the Department of Bilingual/ESL and WL Education, with duties to design curricula, assessments, and instructional strategies for ELL students. Requirements include NJ ESL/Bilingual Certification and at least five years of experience teaching ELLs.

The position runs 8:25 a.m. to 3:05 p.m.

Qualifications

• Appropriate NJ ESL/Bilingual Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• A minimum of five years of experience working with ELLs
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• Provide technical staff development and performance feedback.
• Design, and implement curriculum, assessments, and teaching methodologies appropriate to ELLs.
• Able to multitask and function effectively in a fast paced environment.
• Conduct presentations during In-Service professional development.
• Use data to identify student learning trends, set goals, monitor and modify instruction, and increase student achievement in accordance with school/districts improvement plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
