Job summary

Irvington Public Schools is seeking a Multilingual Learner Instructional Coach for University Middle School to support English Language Learners and their teachers. The role emphasizes designing curricula, assessments, and teaching strategies tailored to ELLs, while providing ongoing staff development and performance feedback.

The ideal candidate holds NJ ESL/Bilingual Certification, has at least five years of experience with ELLs, and can collaborate across a diverse community to set targets,

Qualifications

• A minimum of five years of experience working with ELLs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• Provide technical staff development and performance feedback.
• Design, and implement curriculum, assessments, and teaching methodologies appropriate to ELLs.
• Able to multitask and function effectively in a fast paced environment.
• Use data to identify student learning trends, set goals, monitor and modify instruction, and increase student achievement in accordance with school/districts improvement plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Support ELL students through instructional coaching and collaboration with bilingual/ESL staff.
• Provide staff development and feedback to classroom teachers.
• Assist with design and implementation of ELL-focused curriculum and assessments.
• Guide teachers in data-driven instruction to improve student outcomes.
