Job summary

Irving ISD is seeking a Title III Instructional Coach to assist in implementing and managing English Learner (EL) programs at the secondary level. This role supports teachers with assessment data, targeted instruction, and program development under a grant-funded framework.

The successful candidate will coordinate EL initiatives, provide professional development, and ensure translations are accurate while aligning with district and state requirements.

Qualifications

• Certification in EL services at the secondary level (ESL certification required).
• Master’s Degree in Education or Languages preferred.
• Texas Supervisor’s or Administrator’s certificate preferred.
• Experience coordinating EL programs and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation and coordination of the EL Programs with other programs.
• Assist teachers in understanding assessment results and how to use those results for targeted instructional planning using best practices identified in research.
• Assist campuses in implementing campus improvement plans to decrease the EL performance gaps.
• Assist in writing, implementing and evaluating state and federal projects.
• Provide technical support to principals and other administrators on effective EL classrooms.
• Conduct classroom snapshots, instructional rounds and/or walk-throughs to identify patterns in instructional practice across campuses.
• Create plans for enrichment opportunities for EL students through extended year activities.
• Conduct a needs assessment for elementary EL programs.
• Ensure accurate translations are prepared by appropriate staff.
