Withers is seeking a highly motivated associate to join its Trust, Estate, and Inheritance Dispute (TEID) team. This role is ideal for a self-starter with strong academic credentials and a solid litigation foundation who is eager to build a career in trust and estate litigation.

The successful candidate will develop technical expertise while supporting sophisticated matters for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients across California.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of directly applicable litigation experience is required.
• Experience in probate court and estate/trust matters preferred.
• Admitted to and in good standing with the California Bar.
• Ability to collaborate with TEID and private client teams.
• Willing to work urgent matters or trials, including evenings or weekends.
• Hybrid work model with three days in office and remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Handle range of trust, estate, and inheritance litigation for high‑net‑worth clients.
• Engage in client meetings, strategy development, and communications with counsel.
• Prepare for hearings, trials, and mediations; liaise with clients and team.
• Contribute to business development and firm profile through articles and events.
• Non-contentious probate and fiduciary matters may also arise.
