GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consulting on hair care needs and recommending products and services. They deliver quality professional services focused on the guest’s overall look, supporting the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM). This role emphasizes performance (sales and productivity), guest service, and adherence to operating procedures, requiring a passion for the beauty industry and strong communication skills.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions)

The Elite Stylist champions Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, performing duties including:

Performance

• Perform hair design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Achieve or surpass a weekly sales target of $1900 and meet productivity goals through exceptional guest service and sales efforts.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services, and communicate their benefits to guests.
• Maintain consistent attendance.

People

• Build guest relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
• Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams to enhance the guest experience.
• Foster professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promote loyalty programs, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend training and meetings for ongoing professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
• Follow established service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
• Use booking systems to schedule and manage guest appointments.
• Communicate supply needs to the EM to ensure guest readiness.
• Maintain store cleanliness and operational standards.
• Follow the dress code and loss prevention practices.
• Perform additional operational tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Cosmetology license required.

Experience

• Relevant prior work experience required.
