General Summary & Scope

The Assistant Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. This temporary position prepares talent for a stylist role, focusing on guest service, performance, and technical skill development. Mentored by an Elite or Master Stylist for the first 3 months, they will assist and eventually service guests independently in months 4-6.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Performance

• Deliver exceptional guest service, meeting or exceeding sales, loyalty, and retail shrink goals.
• Support mentor Stylist in achieving sales and productivity targets through recommendations, services, and retail.
• Perform hair services including cuts, color, styling, treatments, and more after three months.
• Conduct product demonstrations and support in-store events and promotions.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services to enhance guest experience.
• Maintain prompt attendance.

People

• Develop relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
• Serve all guests efficiently, under mentorship.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promote the guest loyalty program and Ulta Beauty app.

Process

• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Follow sanitation and infection control protocols.
• Adhere to service protocols for consistency.
• Utilize booking systems for appointments.
• Maintain store cleanliness and operational standards.
• Attend training and meetings for ongoing development.
• Follow dress code and protect company assets.
• Perform other operational duties as assigned.
