GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE
The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. They provide quality professional services focused on the guest’s overall look, support the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM), and prioritize performance, guest service, and process adherence. A passion for beauty, exceptional service, and product knowledge are essential.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Elite Stylist embodies Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values through the following duties:
Performance
- Perform various hair services including design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
- Achieve or surpass an average weekly sales goal of $1900 and meet productivity targets by delivering excellent guest service and supporting retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink reduction.
- Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
- Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
- Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services, and communicate their benefits effectively to guests.
- Maintain consistent attendance.
People
- Build guest relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
- Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
- Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
- Develop professional relationships with peers and brand partners to foster teamwork and exceptional service.
- Promote loyalty programs, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
- Attend mandatory training and meetings for ongoing professional development.
Process
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols, adhering to state guidelines.
- Follow service protocols to guarantee a consistent, high-quality guest experience.
- Use booking and client management systems for scheduling and follow-up.
- Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager.
- Maintain cleanliness and operational standards across the store.
- Adhere to the dress code and loss prevention practices.
- Perform other operational tasks as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Cosmetology license required.
Experience
- Previous relevant work experience required.
Skills
- Proficiency in salon techniques across services or willingness to develop skills.
- Ability to operate salon equipment and chemicals safely.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build client relationships.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
