GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consulting on hair care needs and recommending products and services. They deliver high-quality professional services focusing on the guest’s overall look. Supporting the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM), they prioritize performance (sales and productivity), guest service, and adherence to operating procedures and standards. A passion for beauty, exceptional service, and product knowledge are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions)

The Elite Stylist embodies Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, performing the following duties and any additional tasks as assigned:

Performance

• Perform various hair services including design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Achieve or surpass an average weekly sales goal of $1900 and meet productivity targets through excellent guest service and sales efforts.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and improve the guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing efforts to provide a superior guest experience.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services; understand their ingredients and benefits to better serve guests.
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.

People

• Build relationships with guests through consultations and tailored product and service recommendations.
• Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams to offer a comprehensive store experience.
• Establish professional relationships with peers and brand partners to deliver exceptional service.
• Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, during interactions.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings for ongoing professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols, adhering to state guidelines.
• Use established service protocols to ensure consistent, high-quality guest experiences.
• Utilize booking and client management systems for scheduling and follow-up.
• Communicate supply needs to the EM to ensure guest readiness.
• Maintain cleanliness and operational standards across all areas.
• Follow the dress code and protect company assets through loss prevention practices.
• Perform other operational duties as assigned.
