General Summary & Scope

The Assistant Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. This temporary position prepares talent for a stylist role, focusing on guest service, technical skills, and product knowledge. Mentored by an Elite or Master Stylist for the first 3 months, then begins servicing guests independently in months 4-6. A passion for beauty, guest service, and learning is essential.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Performance

• Deliver exceptional guest service, meeting sales, loyalty, and retail shrink goals.
• Support mentor Stylist in sales and productivity through recommendations, services, and retail.
• Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, and more after three months.
• Conduct product demonstrations and support in-store events and marketing.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services.
• Maintain prompt attendance.

People

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and recommendations.
• Serve all guests efficiently under mentorship.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail team for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promote loyalty programs to guests.

Process

• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, safety, sanitation, and infection control.
• Follow service protocols for consistency.
• Use booking systems to schedule guests.
• Communicate supply needs and maintain store standards.
• Attend trainings and meetings for professional development.
• Adhere to dress code and protect assets.
• Perform operational tasks as directed.

Job Qualifications

Education

• Cosmetology license required.
