GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. They deliver quality professional services focused on the guest’s overall look, supporting the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager. This role emphasizes performance (sales and productivity), customer service, and adherence to operating procedures, requiring a passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service skills, and the ability to learn product knowledge.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance

• Perform hair services such as cutting, coloring, styling, treatments, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Achieve or surpass a weekly sales goal of $1900 and meet productivity targets through excellent guest service and contributing to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink reduction.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services, and communicate their benefits effectively to guests.
• Maintain consistent attendance.

People

• Build relationships with guests through consultations and tailored recommendations.
• Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Foster professional relationships with peers and brand partners to deliver outstanding service.
• Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings for ongoing professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols, complying with state guidelines.
• Adhere to service protocols to ensure consistent, high-quality guest experiences.
• Use booking and client management systems effectively.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager to ensure guest readiness.
• Maintain cleanliness and operational standards in the store.
• Follow the dress code and protect company assets through loss prevention practices.
• Perform other operational tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Cosmetology license required.

Experience

• Relevant prior work experience is required.
