Job summary

British American Household Staffing seeks an experienced Full-Time Lead Housekeeper to take ownership of a 3,000-square-foot home for a busy professional family in New York. The role requires proactive organization, impeccable cleanliness, and the ability to anticipate needs beyond routine housekeeping.

You will coordinate with a nanny and au pair, manage laundry, organize spaces, and help elevate overall home standards. A long-term commitment, discretion, and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Private household housekeeping experience.
• Experience in a high-end or luxury private home.
• High standards for cleanliness and presentation.
• Proactive and able to anticipate household needs.
• Strong knowledge of laundry and wardrobe care.
• Professional, discreet, and respectful of privacy.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of overall cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the home.
• Maintain bedrooms, common areas, kitchen, and other spaces.
• Manage laundry, including folding and putting away clothing and linens.
• Make and maintain beds.
• Coordinate with maintenance professionals when needed.
• Identify areas to improve efficiency, organization, or functionality.
• Work collaboratively with the family’s nanny and au pair.
• Communicate with the family about household needs and priorities.
