Job summary

BDO USA, LLP seeks a Tax Manager, Private Client Services to lead tax engagements for high-net-worth individuals and families. The role emphasizes tax compliance, planning, and advisory work across estate, gift, and trust areas, with a focus on sophisticated financial structures.

The candidate should have CPA or equivalent, 5+ years’ experience, and strong leadership, communication, and business development skills. Proficiency with GoSystems, GoFileRoom, SurePrep, and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics required
• Master’s degree in Accountancy or Taxation preferred
• Five+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or law required
• Public accounting or private client service experience preferred
• CPA/EA/Attorney or equivalent required
• Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat; tax software experience preferred
• Experience with tax research tools highly valued

Responsibilities

• Manages tax and consulting engagements and identifies client needs and opportunities
• Gathers information with clients and advisors to prepare tax returns
• Reviews tax returns for various entities and provides feedback
• Directs communication with government agencies on complex matters
• Conducts advanced tax research and recommends actions
• Expands knowledge through client engagements and current tax developments
• Prioritizes tasks individually and in teams
• Assists with PCS/firm contributions including billing, recruiting, and training
