Job summary

Vertiv, a leader in electrical reliability services, seeks a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing at NETA III/IV level. You will perform high‑voltage acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on power systems up to 500kV, while mentoring junior technicians and leading multi-discipline teams.

Travel regionally up to 75% is required. A strong background in protective relays, test equipment, and NFPA/OSHA compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Proficiency with NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Ability to read one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel regionally (up to 75%).

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
