Job summary

Honda Racing Corporation USA seeks an Electrical Design Engineer in Santa Clarita, CA to design 3D electrical packaging and race car wire harnesses, supporting electrification systems for championship cars.

The role requires 3–5+ years in motorsports or related fields, CATIA proficiency, and knowledge of high-voltage standards. Travel to tracks and testing locations is expected as part of the job.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics.
• 3–5+ years of electrical design experience in motorsports, automotive, or aerospace.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and electrical harness drafting.
• Knowledge of high-voltage systems, creepage/clearance, and GD&T.
• Willingness to travel to track and test locations.

Responsibilities

• Design and model 3D electrical components and harnesses using CATIA.
• Develop motorsport wiring harnesses, high-voltage connectors, and sensor layouts.
• Perform creepage/clearance calculations and tolerance stack-ups.
• Support dyno tests, trackside events, and assembly trials.
• Maintain BOM accuracy and contribute to DFM reviews.
