Job summary

White Bird Clinic in Eugene, OR seeks a Medical Assistant (MA/CMA) to support clinicians with clinical and administrative duties. You will obtain vital signs, assist with exams, draw blood, immunize, and educate Spanish-speaking patients within MA scope. You`ll also handle chart prep, documentation, and scribe as needed.

Responsibilities include coding for reimbursement, coordinating care, and aiding telemedicine IT. Excellent organizational skills and HIPAA compliance are essential for success.

Qualifications

• CMA certification (or equivalent CMA) with 1–3 years experience if certified.
• MA without current national certification requires 3–5 years experience.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Internet apps; comfortable with EHR systems.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and standard precautions.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and patient histories under supervision.
• Assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Maintain medical records and act as a scribe when needed.
• Prepare charts, labs, imaging, and external notes for visits.
• Educate patients on health maintenance and treatment plans.
• Communicate lab results to patients and coordinate care.
• Perform CLIA-waived tests and report results.
• Coordinate patient care between physician and patient.
• Sterilize instruments and manage supply inventory.
• Support telemedicine IT needs for patients.
