Job summary

US Foods in Blasdell, NY is seeking a Master Meat Cutter to produce high quality cuts per customer specs. You will work with knives, band saws and other equipment in a refrigerated environment, labeling portions and reading cut tickets.

The role requires at least 5 years of meat-cutting experience, knowledge of USDA grades, and GMP adherence. Benefits begin Day 1 and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ meat cutter experience including middle meats (filet, ribeye).
• Experience with band saws, laser portion machinery or other meat production equipment.
• Must read, write and communicate in English related to job and safety.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of poultry, beef, lamb and pork including USDA grades and standards.

Responsibilities

• Trim and customize portions of meat products using knives, band saws or other equipment.
• Count and stack portions per customer and company specifications.
• Label portions with supplied product labels and read cut tickets.
• Set up the cutting room and maintain sanitation per GMP.
• Train and mentor junior cutters; work in a refrigerated environment 35°F-45°F.
